Common Questions
What does Unheic do?
Unheic converts HEIC photos to JPG and PNG, with batch conversion, resizing, and a Share Extension that works from the Photos app. All processing happens on your device — no internet, no servers, no accounts.
Why convert HEIC to JPG or PNG?
HEIC is a great format for storage and modern Apple devices, but many apps, websites, and platforms still require JPG or PNG. Unheic converts your photos quickly without uploading them anywhere.
Does Unheic work offline?
Yes. Unheic does not require an internet connection. All conversions happen on-device.
Do you collect my data?
No. Unheic has no backend, no analytics, no trackers, and no advertising SDKs. See our Privacy Policy for details.
In-App Purchase
What’s the difference between the free and Pro tier?
The free tier gives you single conversion, Smart Resize, and the Share Extension — all with a small watermark on the output. “Unheic Pro” unlocks batch conversion (up to 50 photos at once) and removes the watermark everywhere.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. “Unheic Pro” is a one-time, lifetime purchase. There’s no recurring charge.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Sign in with the same Apple ID you used to buy Pro, open Unheic, and tap Restore Purchases in Settings. Your unlock will be recognized automatically.
How do I request a refund?
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We don’t process refunds directly.
Troubleshooting
A converted photo looks different from the original
Conversion to JPG or PNG is a re-encoding operation. Subtle differences are inherent to changing image formats. If you need maximum fidelity, choose PNG (lossless) over JPG, and try a higher quality setting.
Photos won’t save back to my library
Check that you’ve granted Unheic permission to add photos:
- Open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Unheic
- Make sure Add Photos Only (or All Photos) is selected
The Share Extension doesn’t show up in the share sheet
iOS occasionally takes a moment to register newly installed Share Extensions. Try:
- Open the Photos app
- Tap Share on any photo
- Scroll horizontally on the actions row, tap More, and toggle Unheic on
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
We read every message:
- E-mail: contact@thehardway.pl
Please include your device model (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro), iOS version, and a short description of what you did and what happened. Screenshots help a lot.
